Frequently Asked Questions

Why learn with aspect2i?

We have been teaching photography for a very long time!  Both Paul and Michael have decades of experience not just as photographers, but as teachers.  They have also written many books on the subject of photography and are regular contributors to magazines and speak at photography events, shows and to camera clubs and associations.

We are passionate about 'completing the journey' - that is to say post processing, image editing and printing.  Over the years we have developed workflows and techniques that get the results you want - beautiful stunning images.  Our courses are not just about how to edit and print images but also let you know why and when to do things, how to assess an image and take it to its completion.

You can find more about what we do at www.aspect2i.co.uk.

What level of experience do I need for a course?

Basic knowledge of Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom and Photoshop is usually required.  You should have a certain familiarity on how to navigate these programs but you don't have to have detailed knowledge.  Each video will clearly show what to use and when.

What software do I need for these courses?

You will need either Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom and Photoshop.  All of these programs are available from Adobe on their Photography Plan which is relatively not expensive.  If you have earlier versions of these programs you can still complete the courses however some functions may not be available.  Some people use other editing software and we would say that you can still gain a lot from the courses as the functionality of image editing programs is very similar.  What is key is the 'why' and the 'when' in addition to the 'how to'.

Do I need to have a Mac or a PC?

We work with Macs and the courses are recording using Macs.  There are only slight differences between a PC and a Mac such as some shortcuts (alt = option).

Do the videos use the latest versions of Adobe software?

The videos have been recorded over an extended period of time and so will sometimes use older versions of Adobe software.  When there is a significant release we will endeavour to update the videos and add new features included in new releases.

Are the videos available to watch offline or download?

Courses are only available to stream at the moment.

Are the tutors available to answer questions when I take the course?

You can send questions directly from the video viewing app (using the 'discuss' tab) and your tutors will get back to you.

Can I get one on one training to supplement the courses?

Yes you can.  We are very experienced in delivering one to one tuition via Zoom.  We would arrange a time that is convenient and typically you would submit 4 or 5 of your images which we would work with teaching you our approach to your work and answering all of your questions.  At the end of the session we will send you a recording of the Zoom session together with any finished files. Visit www.aspect2i.co.uk to learn more.

How long do I have access to the course?

You have lifetime access to all course materials you are enrolled to.  From time to time we will update videos and add new content and these will also be available to you.
